So, as everyone is undoubtedly already aware, I recently wrote a scene for Devilla and Lucy’s reunion. I’ve been planning to put it after all the Abigail & Nivera chapters, to avoid bouncing around too much, but that order isn’t really set in stone. Hi! Still alive! Sorry I keep dropping off the face of the earth. Depression is being rather terrible – like 3 weeks of reducing one med so I could start another turned into a month plus of waiting for a new med to get approved, and then that pill got changed out too…. So, I’ve recently come to appreciate just how ridiculous my Demon Queened chapters tend to be in length. (I knew they were a bit long, but a couple days back I checked the average chapter length of some of the stories I read. Discovering that the ones with longer updates average at around 4,000 words kinda drove home what an 8,000 word average really meant.) To be honest, I often struggle to write shorter chapters – the reason they’re so long as that it often doesn’t feel like I’ve reached a natural stopping point until 6,000 words in.
